TCP port 445 required for sharing

If BCM cannot connect to a shared database on another machine, but you can ping the machine and sqlcmd can connect to the database, then check that TCP port 445 is not blocked by a firewall. That port is used for NETBIOS traffic and that's how Windows detects other machines.
