Where to get yer BCM 2007 (AKA v3)

Office Small Business and Professional suites will have "Microsoft Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager".

An interesting aspect of the new bundles is that the Home and Student package drops Outlook. Many small businesses bought PCs with Xp Home installed, then bought a single copy of Office Student 2003 from the shop that they installed on several PCs, and missed out on the BCM experience. Now, if they want to use Outlook instead of Outlook Express, they'll have to buy Office Small Business. They'll receive BCM and many will install it, which should increase the BCM user base.

On the other hand, Vista will include a new version of Outlook Express, and more built-in applets, such as a calendar. Perhaps that will be sufficient for small businesses and BCM should move out of Office and become an application that extends Vista's builtin funcionality into a coherent package for small businesses.
